Mrs. Clements is the Chair, EveryChild, Inc., Irene Clements, Secretary, SAFECHR., Board Member, Creating A Family, Public Policy Chair, Texas Foster Family Association, Public Policy Chair, COAC of Texas, Foster Care Consultant. Irene Clements and her husband fostered 127 children over 27 years and adopted 4 children. Irene’s work experiences include 15 years working with children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities and 15 years as the Vice President of Foster Care and Advocacy for a large child placing agency in Texas. Mrs. Clements has been an active member in the NFPA since the mid 1970’s and served in many capacities, to include President for three years before being selected to serve as the Executive Director. Working with and/or advocating for children and families has been her main focus for over 45 years. “Serving as the current Executive Director of the National Foster Parent Association and as its president for the past four and a half years, is the best advocacy effort of my entire career. The knowledge and experience gained over the past 45 years enables my work as a national consultant on foster care and adoption.” Her husband and she served as foster parents for twenty-seven years and fostered 127 children during that time. “We adopted four children and now have seventeen incredible grandchildren and one great grandson. We have been most truly blessed over the years.”
