SAFECHR is a UN ECOSOC-recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring dignity for survivors of human trafficking, sexual violence, and gender-based abuse. Founded in 2014 and based in Indiana, SAFECHR combines global expertise with deeply personalized, trauma-informed care.

Survivors receive extended, trauma-informed care that addresses mental health, addiction recovery, education, and reintegration—creating lasting transformation rather than temporary relief.

Yes. SAFECHR holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC and has trained over 162,396 professionals across 73 countries through its global anti-trafficking programs.

SAFECHR operates two core programs:

  • IACT (International Anti-Trafficking Credentialing Training):
    A global training initiative for professionals to identify and prevent trafficking.
  • T.H.R.I.V.E.:
    A long-term therapeutic housing program designed for survivors to heal, rebuild, and reintegrate into society.

Trauma-informed care is an approach that recognizes the deep psychological and emotional impact of abuse.
It prioritizes safety, trust, empowerment, and long-term healing—ensuring survivors are supported with dignity at every stage.

Unlike emergency shelters, SAFECHR provides long-term residential care—often up to two years—allowing survivors the time needed for true recovery and stability.
